Level 1 PGA Associate Scholarship
Northern California PGA Associates who are enrolled in "Level 1" of the PGA Professional Golf Management Program may apply for the Foundation's Level 1 PGA Associate Scholarship. This scholarship award is funded through the Craig White Memorial Fund.
The scholarship is in honor of PGA Associate, Craig White. Sadly Craig's life was cut short when he passed away in April 2023 during his status as Level 1 Associate B8. As a native of Walnut Creek and raised in Napa California, Craig played a myriad of sports throughout his life, but none captured his heart like golf. White played competitively at Justin Sienna High School and Napa Valley College. He started his employment as an Associate in November 2020 at Rancho Solano Golf Course and would go on to become a golf instructor The Golf Spot Bay Area, spreading his joy of the game, with dreams of having his own golf instruction business one day. Craig was widely respected in the golfing community for his knowledge, skill, and enthusiasm for the sport. Craig was at his absolute best when he was helping grow the game he loved.
Jim Nantz narrated the ending of Craig's celebration of life service while a video of Craig teeing off on Pebble Beach was shown. Nantz said, "As we watch one final drive here on #18, I invite all of you in celebration to clap, yell, and cheer him on in one final standing ovation for Craig..." A life lived full of love for his wife, his family & friends, and the great game of golf. Craig's family and friends are committed to keeping his passion alive by funding this scholarship opportunity for other Level 1 Associates.
Eligible candidates: PGA Associates currently progressing through Level 1 of the PGA Professional Golf Management Program.
Application Period is January 1st through May 1st. Deadline is May 1st.
The scholarship amount up to $2500 will be awarded at the discretion of the Award Fund-Giving Committee to eligible and deserving applicants.
